THE BLACK PRISM--Updated Slipcover ONLY
Are you one of those people who likes things to be perfect? Me too. In fact, that’s why I wanted so badly to get updated slipcovers for THE BLACK PRISM after they went to a new style for the hardcover designs for the rest of the series. I want the books on my shelf to match!
I had to cash in some diva tokens, but eventually I got beautiful new slipcovers, based on the trade paperback design of the rest of the series. We oohed, we aahed, we patted ourselves on the back. Guess what? We now match the design of the trade paperback perfectly. We began giving them away proudly. One problem. When Orbit published the hardcovers of the other books in the series, they changed a couple design elements. Most were unnoticeable… but the streak with the number moved from below the spine graphic to above the spine graphic. None of us noticed.
Now I can’t un-see it. *thump* That’s my head, not hitting my desk but a stack of many, many, beautiful, glossy, professionally-printed slipcovers that are not quite perfect.
So after years of being stymied by lawyers, thanks to the intervention of my wonderful editor Bradley Englert at Orbit, I was finally able to get the slipcovers re-re-designed (thank you Orbit Creative Director Lauren Panepinto!)--now with the streak in the right place.
Here are some pics to show you the deal.

Now, I want to be able to give these away to those of you who want them, wherever you are in the world. (Though do note these are for the US hardcover, which is tiny bit different size than the UK version.) To get them to you in pristine shape, we've got to put them in a shipping envelope, and… well, ship them. So, the cost of the new slipcover is on Orbit and me, the labor's on me, so I hope it's cool if the shipping is on you. Just plug your address in to the Shopify thing and it'll calculate it for you.
If you'd prefer, you can just ask me at my next book signing, and I'll be happy to hand you one completely for free.
I hope this brings a bit of joy to your bookshelf. Thanks for reading!
